About the project

Problem

A powerful behavioral engine (variable rewards, contingency streaks, task triage) lacked UX clarity.
Parents couldn’t easily configure or trust the system.
Children couldn’t clearly see why tasks mattered or how rewards worked.

Research

  • Analyzed reward algorithm (Skinner + contingency model)

  • Reviewed triage logic (time × consistency × interruptions)

  • Audited Parent & Child usability gaps

  • Identified cognitive overload and transparency issues

Solution

  • Simplified reward & streak visibility for both Parent and Child apps

  • Clarified “Why this task now?” using transparent triage logic

  • Reduced UI complexity while preserving behavioral intelligence

  • Aligned leadership on positioning Sage as a behavioral operating system, not a task app

Outcome

  • Executive buy-in secured

  • Clearer Parent–Child interaction model

  • Increased trust in reward mechanics

  • Elevated product from habit tracker → structured behavior reinforcement platform
